Texas A & M Corpus Christi: Academic Support Services
In 18 years as a head coach at Rice University and Texas A & M Corpus Christi, 100% of Coach Wilson’s seniors graduated. Don’t gamble with your academic future or your athletic future. Play for someone who has a proven track record of success in graduating his players, developing his players, and helping his players realize their dreams! The Blueprint works!
Jennifer Baker heads up our Athletic Academic Support Services. The biggest adjustment from high school to college is TIME MANAGEMENT! Jennifer’s office will help you organize your day, week, month, semester, year. In addition, her office will make sure you are in the right classes. She will also help you with tutors, if they are needed.
We recommend tutors for three reasons;
1.) Tutors will help you do in one hour what it would take you by yourself to do in two hours, which means more time in the gym!!
2.) Tutors will mean the difference between an A and a B. That will be important if you want to go to graduate school.
3.) Tutors will help you catch up if you happen to get behind.
Texas A & M Corpus Christi offers the very best in tutors, tutorials, study table, study blocks, and mentoring programs that will in turn help you be successful not only in the classroom, but also on the basketball court.
The Mission Statement:
The mission for the Center for Athletic Academic Services is to provide services to student-athletes that will enhance their academic experience, assist in their retention and development as students as well as promote the CHAMPS/Life Skills program and the five commitment areas:
1. Academic Excellence
2. Athletic Excellence
3. Personal Development
4. Career Development
5. Service
Services include supervised study hall, a computer lab, individual and group tutoring sessions as well as the availability of learning assistants.
